Wheel class, session one.
Salida Artists Second Saturday Gallery Event: It's The Maverick Potter's eighth anniversary, and we are having a bowlnanza to celebrate. Gallery owner and potter Mark Rittmann has been concentrating on making a host of bowls to fill the shelves as we celebrate eight years in business. Bowls of all shapes and sizes will be featured, completed in a variety of firing types, so this is a great opportunity to learn a little more about the firing process and find a piece of functional art to brighten your home. Reception 5-8pm.
We made it through the winter. We made it through tax season. We all need a laugh. Join us for a night of bad jokes & simple clay. We'll be making and telling kneeslappers.
OK, I know what the jokes are. What is a clay kneeslapper? It is a simple clay pancake, slapped onto your knee to make a fun little dish, suitable for a variety of everyday uses. We got this idea from our colleague & potter Bob Walsh of Bullseye pottery in Mack, CO.
Festive treats and holiday cheer! Let's all celebrate because Christmas is near!
All day Saturday we will have pottery & ornament painting, delicious sweet and savory bites, and a clay snowman for everyone to decorate.
And door prizes! Enter with your name and email. Four prizes will be awarded at the end of the day's celebrations. Need not be present to win!
At 6pm, Andrea Early Coen & friends bring live music to The Maverick Potter with traditional holiday & old time tunes. Don't miss it!
Early bird enrollment discount! Our six-session classes normally $210, just $190 if you sign up by close of business, Tuesday October 6th!
The Maverick Potter is excited to introduce curator, artist, and friend Eva Champagne who has invited 24 nationally recognized artists from 13 states to participate in our first Maverick Potter Invitational Show. The show is an inspiring collection of contemporary American functional ceramics and will not disappoint.
