The Maverick Potter Invitational

We're celebrating seven great years of doing business in Salida by hosting our first Maverick Potter Invitational exhibit of contemporary American functional ceramics. Our guest curator, Eva Champagne, invited twenty-four potters from thirteen states who represent a broad range of current aesthetics in American ceramic art.
The ceramics field is both rich in history and lively with innovation, and never more so than right now. Each artist in this show was chosen for their virtuosity of technique, their affiliation with the craft lineage, and for their inventiveness and singular, captivating vision. Eva took care to include a wide range of building means, surface treatments, and firing methods. In addition, these artists each effectively express their own characteristic interests and concerns through the ceramic medium, giving meaning beyond function to the objects.
We at The Maverick Potter are pleased to welcome these nationally distinguished ceramic artists to our gallery, and to share their enchanting works with our dear friends in Salida. We're also delighted to have all the work available to view here on our website. Thank you, Salida, for your support!
